Paolo De Luca is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Water and Climate Risk (WCR) of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM).
His current research focusses on the causes, mechanisms and impacts of Earth System Tipping Points and associated extreme events over the Mediterranean region. The position is funded by the H2020 Project Tipping Points in the Earth System (TiPES).
Paolo’s research interests span across the whole domain of natural hazards, with a focus on weather and climate extremes. He uses different methods, from pragmatic to advanced statistical techniques, to better interpret physical mechanisms driving extreme events.
