Jannes van Ingen is co-founder of S2S-AI, a spin-off from the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam that focusses on improvement of sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) weather forecasting using artificial intelligence techniques.

His startup S2S-AI focusses on creating skillful S2S weather forecasting products for the energy, agricultural and NGO sector. For further improvement of S2S forecasting, he works at the intersection of econometrics and climate sciences, two of his main interests. In addition to improvements of forecasting techniques, he develops his entrepreneurial skills to set up a company that envisions a more climate resilient world through improved S2S forecasting.

He holds cum laude master degrees both in Climate Econometrics and Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics (STREEM) from VU Amsterdam and a cum laude bachelor degree in Economics and Governance from Wageningen University and Research (WUR). His master thesis for Climate Econometrics investigated the sub-seasonal predictability of air temperature in Europe with an aim at the energy trading industry.
