  • Visiting researcher of KNMI
My areas of expertise are dynamic meteorology and climatology from urban to global scale, land-atmosphere interactions, teleconnections and extreme weather.

I am a Physicist with a MSc in Meteorology and Climatology and a PhD in Climate Dynamics. I come from Greece, where I finished my bachelors and masters, but as I wanted to expand my knowledge and experiences I came to The Netherlands to do a PhD, and I live there ever since. I did my PhD at KNMI on the topic of teleconnections and large scale dynamics. Afterwards, I worked on various research projects and topics, such as the intensities of future extreme precipitation on regional scales, the impact of urbanization on weather and precipitation and the influence of synoptic weather conditions on birds migration. The tools I use are the weather and climate models, observations, advanced statistical analysis and machine learning.

Currently, I work on LAMACLIMA project, where my aim is to quantify the impacts of large-scale land cover and land management changes (global reforestation, deforestation, irrigation and wood harvest) on the large-scale atmospheric circulation using state of the art Earth System Models.
